May was a busy month for cakes, so I didn’t get round to writing about any of them or putting any photos up. So now things are a little quieter (well for five minutes at least) I thought I would put some photos up of the coolest cake I made in May! Click
I have to admit that I have never watched the Impractical Jokers, but a quick google search showed me plenty of pictures and examples of other cakes. As I had so many other cakes to do, I started early in April and made the figures and other decorations for the cake when I had some spare time as this is definitely the most time consuming part.
The more I learn about cake decorating the more I realise that so many of the amazing effects and decorations are heavily reliant on having the right equipment and tools. For example, I used my air gun to spray black colouring over the bottom tier. The graffiti and the signs were done using an edible pen, so it is as easy as drawing with a normal pen.
But even with the help of the latest gadgets, a lot of hard work and patience goes into a cake like this, it is definitely worth all the effort though!
